Little Miracles

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

The end of May is full of celebration for Ben and I.  Our anniversary is on the 26th and his birthday is on the 31st.  This was our first year at home to celebrate both our anniversary and Ben’s birthday since we’ve been married.  While spending our anniversary on the way to Uganda and Ben’s birthday in Uganda last year and Ben’s birthday in Charleston on our honeymoon last year were all great, it was nice to celebrate at home this year.

This year, our anniversary very nicely fell on Memorial Day and I therefore had all day off work and we were able to spend the entire day celebrating.  The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History has an Indiana Jones special exhibit that we decided to go visit.  It was really cool, as it showed movie clips, gave behind the scenes information as well as information regarding to the historical aspects of the movies.  It was pretty cool and we learned a lot about the Indy movies.

For Ben’s birthday, Katie and I decided to throw him a batman themed party with desserts.  We had a great time just hanging out with our friends.  I attempted my first homemade cookie cake and it was a success!  Since she is much more artsy than me, I had Katie decorate the cake, which she did a fabulous job with!  Then Saturday, on Ben’s actual birthday, we slept in and relaxed some before going to Chili’s for lunch.  We went shopping a bit for Ben to spend some of his birthday money and came home to play a Lego Batman game he bought.  For dinner, I made him Jalapeno Popper Chicken, chips and queso, corn on the cobb, and leftover cookie cake and apple pie that our friend Brandon made him.  All at his request I might add.

We’re looking forward to celebrating next weekend with Shae Lee and Casey as they get married!!! 🙂  We also look forward to the little things God sends our way to celebrate over the next several months and hope He gives you things to celebrate as well!

With love,
